Painting the Egg - Moroccan Love

A little while back, I held a giveaway on my Instagram page with the prize being a custom, hand painted goose egg. I thought it would be fun to take you all behind the scenes of the process of painting a goose egg.  

This egg was designed by the winner of the giveaway, Alia. It was inspired by her honeymoon in Morocco; she wanted to capture the vibrant colors and patterns of Morocco in this egg. The Arabic calligraphy on the egg reads "Alia" and "Muhammad," the couple's names. 

NEW Painted Goose Eggs! Great Eid Gifts!

So I have exciting news! I have added a bunch of new products to my etsy shop, Eggs by Wardah. These eggs are hand painted with acrylic paints and varnished with a clear gloss finish. They have an Turkey skyline with the word "alhamdulillah" in the skyline. These would make the perfect Eid gifts!

The next two eggs are also goose eggs. They have a simple Arabic calligraphy design on the with glitter spots. These would be perfect for new moms or house warming presents.

Turquoise and Gold Moroccan Ostrich Egg

Do you guys remember this giveaway I did for a custom hand-painted ostrich egg when I reached 100 posts? My beautiful reader, Sarah, won the giveaway through random selection and I am so happy that she did. Not only was she super creative with the egg ideas she came up with, but she was patient through out the painting process. I was able to paint this beautiful Moroccan themed ostrich egg to fit with her home decor. Here's how the process went-

I started with a blank canvas, a clean new egg with a coat of white paint. I measured the dimensions of the egg, sketched on the pattern Sarah wanted, and then painted in the details. After going over the painted egg to correct any details, I finished it off with a coat of clear glossy varnish.
