Mango Milkshake

Mango milkshake is an extremely popular drink in the summertime in India-Pakistan (and almost everywhere else in the country). What makes it festive are the bright colors, cooling effect on hot days, and delicious flavors. Of course, the fact is that most family members and guests always love the sweet surprise of a mango milkshake, as a snack, appetizer, or even dessert.

Though fall has officially begun, it's still super warm for many people (oh those Californians). So, this cold drink will be a great idea for a sweet treat after Eid prayer.

The star of this mango shake, the mango pulp, is what makes it unique. This ingredient, though it sounds very common, is not usually found in every grocery store. You may have to look for it in a specialty Indian store. If you can't find it, feel free to substitute with 1 large alphonso mango or 2 small. Also, add a sweetener to taste.

So here it is, a simple but delicious how-to mango milkshake.

Mango Milkshake
Serves 2

1 cup of milk
1 cup of mango pulp
2-3 scoops of vanilla ice cream
ice cream for topping
whipped cream topping (optional)
maraschino cherries (optional)
nuts (optional)

Blend milk, mango pulp, and ice cream to create a smooth drink. Top with a generous scoop of ice cream and any other toppings you like.

Enjoy!
